O taste and see that the LORD is good, blessed is the man that trusts in him. Appointment with surgeon Sept. 1. The doctor was encouraged with the healing of the incision. He feels the incision will be fully healed by early October. This would mean that the radiation treatments in Sudbury will start sometime in late October or early November. Life at the Yules has been busy but the business of appointments and hospital visits is more manageable. The dressing is being changed once a day now. School is starting next week so there will be some adjustments there. Things should be a little quieter at home during the school days. Please continue to pray. Perhaps for patience and endurance, the journey seems longer at times.

I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8 Appointment with surgeon on August 17th. The doctor is very encouraged with the healing. He wants to see Debbie in 3 weeks. Three centimetres around the tumor were cancer free. Eight lymph nodes were removed, four have cancer. No word yet on the rescheduling of appointments with the radiologist. God has answered prayers, we still need the Lord's help for the decisions coming up about the radiation in Sudbury.
August 1, 2010 I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities. Psalm 31:7 Appointments, July 28-30 Wednesday with the radiologist: the results of the CAT scan have encouraged the radiologist to schedule an appointment for August 4th in Sudbury to prepare for 5-6 weeks of radiation treatments. Treatments may not start until September. Thursday with the surgeon: there was a blockage of the drain and some infection that had to be taken care of. It was painful and uncomfortable, but expected to some degree. The drain was removed but the healing will take longer than hoped at first. Friday with the oncologist: there will likely be more chemo after the surgery has healed. CAT scan results were encouraging. The spot on the liver seems to be smaller as a result of the chemo. The radiation would not have gone ahead if the results were not good. Continue to pray for direction, especially regarding the radiation treatment in Sudbury. We are not sure how the family arrangements will work.

Our times are in thy hands, O God we wish them there; We yield ourselves to thy command, And trust thy loving care. (Verse of a Hymn) CAT scan results: Debbie had 3 appointments this week: Wednesday with the radiologist, Thursday with the surgeon, Friday with the oncologist. She should be fully informed regarding the CAT scan results. Please continue to pray for these results. Planned surgery on Friday, July 23rd. Surgery went according to plan. Debbie was recovery by late morning. She was out by supper time. She spent both Thursday and Friday nights at her parents' home. Arrived safely home for supper on Saturday night. Debbie is weary, she is sore and she needs lots of rest. She says she feels good, but it's easy to tell this was a major event. Aunt Cathy has three of the girls for the week. Elizabeth will spend the week with her Rankin cousins. So it should be a bit quieter at home for this week. Thanks to those who prayed, there was a sense of peace prior, during and following the surgery. Here is a link to Facebook "Please Pray for Debbie": http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=288087029997

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters... Psalm 23 Debbie has the last of her scheduled chemo treatments this week. Surgery is still scheduled for July 23. There is an appointment with the surgeon today as well as a CAT scan. Discussions with the radiologist will happen after the CAT scan results are in. The Yules are into a busy summer schedule. Please continue to pray for the family. All are experiencing some weariness from the stress of doctor's appointments and chemo. Debbie is still upbeat and positive. She is still very much herself and doing well. David has been working Tuesday through Thursday for the last month or so. Please pray for the CAT scan, important decisions will be made based on the results. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers of so many. We are truly blessed to have such support. My soul, wait only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:5 Next week Debbie will start the second set of 3 weeks of the new chemo. Once a week for 3 weeks. There is surgery scheduled for July 23. There is an appointment with the oncologist on June 28th. With colds and graduations Debbie is feeling a little weary. Pray that she will take the necessary precautions for rest. Sometimes it seems that rest is optional, not a necessity. School for the girls is done on June 28th for the summer. Elizabeth graduated from grade 8 on Wednesday. Hannah goes into grade 6. Esther in grade 3. Naomi to Senior Kindergarten. Leah turns 2 in September. Thanks for praying for wisdom as they experience this illness. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27 A CAT scan is planned for today. Please pray for encouraging results. Will likely hear results early next week. Debbie found out last week the new chemo should be once a week. So starting June 9 she will have 3 sessions of chemo. There are no definite plans beyond that. James continues to be healthy and bright. Such a delight to all. It has been reported that he smiled at his grandmother. Thanks again for your prayers and do continue to pray.
NOTE: CAT scan was cancelled. Rescheduled for the end of July.
June 1, 2010
Yet the LORD will command his loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Psalm 42:8 The plans are falling in place for more tests and surgery. A CAT scan is planned for the week of June 7 to 11. Our prayer is that there will be ample evidence that the chemo is working. The chemo is planned for June 16th. This will be the sixth. There may be more in the future. Surgery for the mastectomy is being planned for the week of July 5 to 9. No date has been set for radiation treatments in Sudbury. This schedule may change depending upon CAT scan results. As you can imagine there is a certain fatigue that is setting in. Even as things go on the family is getting weary of all the running, etc. Deb has her ups and downs and still needs our prayers and encouragement. The newness of school has worn off a bit and the girls need our prayers, too. Dave has returned to work on a day to day basis and has needed a change in focus. It is a real struggle to watch someone you love go through a trial like this, you feel so helpless. It's hard not to mention the kindness, compassion and help that has flooded this home. As a family we are all grateful and appreciate all the help. The meals, the cleaning, the laundry, etc. and the prayers. Please remember the doctors and pray for wisdom.

Whom have I in heaven but you? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside you. Psalm 73:25 There has been a bit of a delay on the 5th chemo treatment. It was scheduled for May 12, but delayed one week due to Debbie having a cold. Hopefully the blood work will be good on Monday and the treatment will be on Wednesday morning. There was an experimental aspect to this one so pray that all will go well. James is doing well and gaining weight, still the Yule house is a busy place from dawn to dark each day. Please continue to pray for the girls in school as they are facing challenges that may be normal school challenges but they are new for the girls. Thanks again for praying.
April 25, 2010
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. Job 19:25 Debbie had her fourth chemo treatment last Wednesday and had some more on Thursday morning. Two more to go! This week has been especially busy with appointments. Debbie is weary. Please pray for strength an courage as the treatments are taking a toll. The demands of a young family are also challenging. Many thanks for the helping hands that clean once a week and prepare meals, do laundry or just help out. The work on the bathroom is 99% complete. Thanks to all for your love and care. Your prayers are felt and much appreciated. This week appears to be shaping up to be a little less hectic. Please remember the doctors in prayer.
April 15, 2010
But He knows the way that I take: when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10 Debbie received the results of the CAT and Bone scans. The tests have shown there are two spots on her liver and one on her spine. The doctors are confident that both instances are treatable, but it is a bit disheartening. James continues to be a blessing. He is a great baby, content and happy. His sisters think the world of him, and there is a constant line up to hold him. Next chemo session is scheduled for April 21. The does are expected to be a little stronger. Please keep Debbie, the family and the doctors in your prayers.
April 11, 2010
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95:3 The week of April 4th to 10th was the first week after James David arrived. As a result several tests were done that needed to wait until after James arrival. On April 5th a bone scan was done, and on April 8th a CAT scan was done. Debbie has asked that we pray for these tests. The results will be used by the doctors to determine future treatment. Please continue to pray for wisdom as Dave plans to return to work this week. This week looks like it could be rather light as there is only the regular Monday appointments so far. James David is back to his birth weight, he is eating well and sleeps a lot, but not through the night yet. Please remember to pray for the doctors.
March 30, 2010
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil. Jeremiah 29:11 James David Yule was born Saturday, March 27 at about 7:45pm, 9 lbs 2 oz, 21 inches long. A son has arrived!!! It was a long day for Dave & Deb, but they are grateful for a safe delivery. Deb's midwife was also present. Dave & Deb spent Saturday at the Rankin home, as the Rankin's were out in Goulais with the girls. It may be Thursday until they bring James to his home in Goulais. Deb has her next chemo treatment on Wednesday, so continue to pray. The strong prayer support is being felt. Thanks again for praying.
March 10, 2010
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8 Today is Deb's second chemo treatment. So far the Oncologist is pleased with the progress (Praise the Lord). As expected, Deb has lost her hair. Dave did the task as it was evident it was all coming out. It was as hard for Dave as it was for Deb. Please continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors. Your prayers are appreciated and have been felt. Thanks for praying.
February 27, 2010
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Debbie has responded well to the chemo. She is now at the point where it is expected she will lose her hair. She is not looking forward to this, but as accepted it as part of the treatment. She has not had the expected nausea, and is thankful for the prayers of God's people. The supply of meals and support have been greatly appreciated. Please remember the doctors, and pray for wisdom.
February 18, 2010
He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 The first chemo treatment has been done. The second treatment is scheduled for 3 weeks from now. Plans are for a total of 6 treatments, one every 3 weeks. Regular blood work will be done between treatments. Deb was tired but still has a bright smile. She sounded very much herself after a good night's rest. Dave must make some decisions about work, so please continue to pray. Please remember these doctors in prayer: the Oncologists, the Obstetrician, the Surgeon, and the Pediatrician.
February 12, 2010
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your way. Proverbs 3:5 The schedule has been selected with chemotherapy starting in the middle of the next week. The doctors feel more confidence in delivery when Deb's pregnancy reaches week 37 (in 5 or 6 weeks). There is also a Facebook page called "Please Pray for Debbie." Please remember these doctors in prayer: the Oncologists, the Obstetrician, the Surgeon, and the Pediatrician.
February 9, 2010
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5 Debbie was diagnosed with inflamatory breast cancer on February 5, 2010. Dave & Deb met with the Oncologist, on Monday, February 8. They discussed a program of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Deb's 30-week pregnancy is also a factor. The Oncologist assured Dave & Deb that he was confident in dealing with this rather rare form of cancer. The next appointments are on February 9th for a liver ultrasound, and an appointment with the Obstetrician. Dave & Deb felt confident with Dr. Brigden's approach to this illness. February 9 - Appointment with the Surgeon, the Obstetrician & the Pediatrician plus ultrasounds for all organs. Plans are being formulated and they expect another consultation this week. Wednesday looks like a day off. Hopefully a day of rest for Dave & Deb. Please remember these doctors in prayer: the Oncologists, the Obstetrician, the Surgeon, and the Pediatrician.
